Company history:
- 1997 – Bitel LLC was established.
- August 1, 1998 – the first call was made on Kyrgyzstan’s GSM network.
- 2001 – the MobiCard trademark was launched and later evolved into the Mobi brand.
- 2006 – Sky Mobile LLC began providing mobile communication services under the Bitel brand.
- 2009 – the company started operating under the unified international Beeline brand.
- 2010 – Sky Mobile LLC became part of VEON Ltd., an international telecommunications group.
- 2024 – VEON announced its intention to sell its stake in Beeline Kyrgyzstan as part of its strategy to simplify its corporate structure and focus on larger markets.
- 2025 – the transaction for the sale of a 100% stake in Sky Mobile LLC was completed. The buyer was Eldik Bank OJSC.
Key milestones in technological development
- In December 2010, Beeline became the first GSM operator in Kyrgyzstan to launch a third-generation (3G) network, which was expanded to all seven regions of the country by February 2012.
- In May 2016, the fourth-generation (4G) mobile network was launched across all regions of Kyrgyzstan.
- In 2018, Beeline introduced LTE-Advanced technology, doubling mobile internet speeds.
- In March 2024, Beeline Kyrgyzstan received the prestigious Ookla award, presented by the globally recognized leader in connectivity intelligence, for having the fastest 4G network in Kyrgyzstan.
- In 2024, the latest VoLTE (Voice over LTE) technology was introduced, enabling voice calls and SMS services over the 4G/LTE network with instant call setup and crystal-clear voice quality.
